Oregon's Sauvignon Blanc is a product of the state's cool, maritime climate: long, warm-but-not-hot summers with cool evenings that help the grape hold onto its natural acidity.
That produces wines with more tension and restraint than the riper, more tropical-leaning styles common in warmer growing regions: bright citrus and green-fruit character over overt pungency.
