About the winery
Elixir Wine Co and Ermisch Cellars produces several wines including Ermisch Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from Willamette Valley which are Live Certified at our new micro-winery in Bend, Oregon. Ermisch travels to Argentina for part of each year to oversee harvest operations at company owned Bodega Calle and to keep in contact with all our suppliers in South America. He also travels to Europe each year with the same purpose. In this way, we continue to bring the best wines to our wholesale partners and customers throughout the United States. The company imports to and distributes its New World portfolio from Napa, California, its European portfolio from New Jersey and bases its operations in beautiful Bend, Oregon. Something about 2012. Is it just me or are things so much more ominous this year? As I sit in Bodega Calle with a bottle of Ca de Calle nearby, I contemplate on the few short days since my arrival this harvest season. A couple weeks before my arrival, one winery employee leaves after 10 years with us, dissatisfied that he is no longer the only “key” employee in the company, that he in short has to respect reporting requirements on inventory movements, while at the same time he leaves under vague staff accusations that he may have stolen a pallet of Torrontés from a shipment made to a nearby cold storage facility.
