Stroll Main Street to see what’s what, hear the live music (dance in the street if you like), enjoy all there is to taste, and participate in a raffle for a chance to win a half wine barrel full of wine-related wares!100% of the raffle proceeds are donated to our charity. FRIDAY, AUGUST 7th, 2026 6-7:30 pm Join us for a new, FREE members‑only experience at Shumaker Vineyards—an intimate Book & Wine tasting where members come together to share ideas, discover new favorites, and enjoy exceptional wine in good company. Rather than a traditional book club, each gathering will be shaped by you. We invite every guest to bring a favorite book—one that has stayed with you, inspired you, or simply brought you joy. You will have the opportunity to briefly share why it matters to you, creating a rich and personal exchange of ideas and stories. We are so excited to learn about your favorites and add titles to our library! To complement the evening, we encourage you to bring a small dish or snack inspired by your chosen book—something that reflects its setting, mood, or meaning. Paired with our curated flight of wines, the experience becomes a sensory exploration of literature, flavor, and connection. This will be a relaxed, intimate gathering held in our tasting room, with limited seating for the FIRST 30 guests to preserve the atmosphere. This is a members only event, however, each member may bring a guest! We envision a space where conversation flows easily, discoveries are shared, and the visit feels welcoming. She is the mastermind behind the Cajun- inspired magic at Olympia’s Chicory Restaurant. Raised in Kansas City, with deep Cajun roots, Elise grew up surrounded by BBQs, jambalaya pots, and crawfish boils, all flavors that shaped her soulful cooking. When she crossed paths with our own Bree, whose childhood in Australia was steeped in cultural comfort food, it was friendship at first bite. Now, Elise is bringing her soulful culinary style to Gaston. Expect a laid-back afternoon with delicious eats, beautiful wines and hospitality that fills you from the inside out.
