About the winery
Flipturn celebrates the unexpected flips and turns in life. After completing WSET Level 3 and working as a Harvest volunteer in 2019, Flipturn owner, Meg Rulli, took a giant leap of faith in 2020 — having no prior experience in winemaking — and purchased 1 ton of Syrah fruit to learn how to make wine. Through trial and error and the mentorship of talented Oregon winemakers, Meg produced 50 cases of her inaugural vintage, which sold out in 6 months in 2022. She has been making small production wine ever since. Meg sources grapes from vineyards that put a lot of thought and love into their land and works with varietals she has fallen in love with during her travels. Practicing minimal intervention techniques, Meg is learning (and fine-tuning) her craft every day. Join Flipturn on this wild journey and try her newly released wines.

I'm the featured winery at this month's Small Lot Sessions, a monthly gathering at Résolu Cellars celebrating emerging Oregon winemakers and local artisans. Come meet me, taste Flipturn wines by the glass, flight, or bottle, and check out the beautiful barrel-inspired woodworking from Barrel Craft Studios. It's a relaxed evening with great wine, good conversations, and live music in Historic Downtown Hillsboro. No reservation required, but seating is limited — reserve a table to guarantee your spot.

My winemaker pal, Cassandra at Corcilla Cellars, is hosting me in her tasting room for an evening of wines from two women-owned wineries under one roof.
